S Iswaran,- Minister, Prime Minister’s Office & Second Minister for Home Affairs & Second Minister for Trade & Industry delivers the inagural speech . Â Malabar Muslim Jama-ath (MMJ) held islandwide Ramadhan Ration pack distribution on Saturday 14-Jul-2012. The event was inaugurated by S Iswaran (Minister, Prime Minister’s Office & Second Minister for Home Affairs & Second Minister for Trade & Industry ). Minister highlighted the uniqueness of the event as this is aiming to help needy families of island-wide in various races. We distributed food items like Rice, Cooking oil, Bee Hoon, spices, milk, sugar, salt, dates, biscuit, sause etc which would feed family of 4 member for at least 1 month. Additionally for Muslim families we distributed prayer mat, tasbih counter and Qibla compass. The event honoured with presence of MMB Chairman Haji Osman Abdulla, Masjid Imams, Mr Jaleel (MES Group of Companies). There were around 250 volunteers to help the distribution islandwide.
We thank all the supporters of the event from bottom of our heart, especially the dedicated volunteers.
The ration pack was well received by needy families. This was the first major welfare distribution exercise carried out by MMJ. We apologise to our volunteers and ration pack recipients for any short comings from our side.
